Joshua Cha

Founder & President

Joshua Cha is a 10th-grade student at Princeton Day School and a violist in the Juilliard Pre-College program. He is a recipient of the prestigious YoungArts Award in classical music (viola), a highly selective national recognition honoring outstanding young artists across the United States.

As President of the Show Me Your Heart Youth Council, he leads community-focused initiatives, organizing music events and fundraising performances that support charitable causes. In this role, he oversees project planning, coordinates with team members and partners, and advances the council’s mission of using music and service to create meaningful community impact.

Hope Hackbart

Hope is a senior at Council Rock High School South in Pennsylvania and a dedicated violinist with over ten years of experience. An active member of her school orchestra, she demonstrates strong discipline, creativity, and commitment to the music.

She leads a well-rounded life through mixed martial arts, and travel, reflecting both resilience and curiosity. In Fall 2026, Hope will be attend La Salle University to pursue nursing, with the goal of becoming a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) and making a meaningful impact by helping others through compassionate care.

Safa Rizwan

Vice-President

Safa graduated from South Brunswick High School and is now a student at Rutgers University. She has been involved in several fundraising campaigns and enjoys coming up with new ways to support causes she cares about. She likes getting involved and helping wherever she can. As Vice President of Music Teacher for Nicaragua, she helps support the effort to bring music education to students who have had little access to it. Outside of school and volunteering, Safa enjoys listening to music and going to live performances.

Juan Gomez

Translation & Logistics Coordinator

Juan was born and raised in Nicaragua. He translates for the team and helps coordinate the logistics of the music teacher position.

Our Partners in Nicaragua

Hyang Kim and her husband are South Korean missionaries who have been running a school in Tipitapa, Nicaragua since 2008. Built entirely on donations and charitable giving, their school serves approximately 150 students and offers basic education, healthcare, and vocational training to one of the poorest communities in Central America. Music Classroom for Nicaragua works alongside them to bring music education to their students.
